Contracts Engineer - Ely, Cambridgeshire
The successful candidate will find this an exciting and challenging role. The position is part of a small team which provides full sales response to customers in all of the company's market. This is a wide and encompassing role dealing with all aspects of contract preparation. You MUST have previous experience working as a Contracts Engineer.
Main duties of the job
1) Dealing with commercial review of customer enquiries relating to the purchase of all the company's products by telephone and email
2) Reviewing commercial terms and conditions of contract and advising on the company's exceptions.
3) Conducting contract negotiations with customers, sales team and management to agree mutually acceptable contract terms that minimise risks to the client.
4) Dealing with all commercial input to bid submissions and finalising contracts with the customer.
5) Reviewing customer purchase orders and producing the necessary documentation to process the order and hand over to Project Services.
6) Consulting with external law firms to gain up-to-date legal advice pertaining to contracts in order to minimise risks to the company.
7) Advising the customer about the clients products and the correct technical solution for their usage
8) In addition to the above, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required.

Knowledge and skills required
Ideally the position would suit someone with an engineering background or knowledge so that they have some understanding of the products and markets. The person should also have some experience of dealing with commercial terms and conditions of contract. Good administrative skills are needed and must be computer literate with current software packages, such as Microsoft Office Package, Lotus Notes. The successful candidate should possess good communication skills, together with the ability to work calmly under pressure, and to produce work to tight deadlines paying attention to detail.

Qualifications
A formal engineering qualification would be an advantage, or equivalent engineering experience.
